If anyone is giving up their puppy in NYC, I am willing to take care of it? Pls dont giv it to animal shelter.?

If there is anyone out there in NYC who is thinking about giving up their puppy to the animal shelter, please consider giving it to me. I will take care of it but I will only be able to take in small breeds as my apartment is not that big.
I was actually thinking about buying a dog from the pet store but one of my friends told me to consider adopting as it will save a dog’s life. I realize that a lot of dogs that end up in animal shelters are put to sleep.
I went down to the animal shelter in Manhattan but found only large breeds for adoption. So right now, I am thinking of helping someone out by taking care of their dog if they have to give it up.
I hope it’s clear that when you buy one of those cute puppies in the pet shop window, you buy more than the puppy. You buy the budding physical and behavioral problems created by the bad genes passed on by untested parents whom you never get to see and evaluate.
Worse than that, you buy into a profit-hungry industry that is hurting innocent animals. Simply out of good conscience, a pet shop should not be anyone’s choice as a source for a puppy.
